Choir Membership

The Singers meet on Sunday evenings in St Paul's Church, St Paul's Road, Clifton, from 7.30 p.m. until about 9.15 p.m., sometimes ending a little later. We don't normally practise during school holidays.

We sing in English and Latin, sometimes in French, German, and Italian, and occasionally in other languages. Some recent repertoire is listed here. Good sight-reading is desirable — we prefer not to spend a lot of time learning notes. For prospective new members, after a few rehearsals there will be a short audition which includes sight-reading, scales, and a short prepared piece.

There is a subscription of £60 per annum, which goes towards purchase of music, occasional payments to instrumentalists, and use of the rehearsal venue.

Concert dress: ladies wear an ankle-length black skirt, and a coloured top and scarf available from the choir. Gentlemen wear a dark suit; a coloured bow tie is available from the choir.
